About Us

Ric and Pam are the brains, brawn and beauty behind The Licorice Shop.  We are passionate about our licorice, chocolate, toffees, fudge, sweets, English & Dutch products, sugar & gluten free products and would not have it any other way.

Very important to us has been  the face to face contact with people who have come into our stand and tried our licorice, especially converting the licorice hater into a licorice lover and educating those who wish to know about the process of licorice production.  We visit the factories from which we purchase, to familiarise ourselves with the process and to check that these factories are up to our standard.  We also now have our own exclusive line of licorice - mostly herbal, so take a leap of faith and try these special licorices.

We always welcomed the repeat customer, many of whom have come in to The Rocks Market on a regular basis for their licorice fix, and many from overseas and interstate who visited our stand with a shopping list from home, every time they came to Sydney. 

At the Rocks we enjoyed the faces of the children as they tried the various flavours of licorice, be it a sweet, sour or even a black licorice.  We now enjoy the face to face contact at our lovely shop with many familiar faces making the trip to the Illawarra.

Owing to the COVID-19 we have chosen not to go back to The Rocks Market, but we are online 7 days a week to send out your order.  We miss terribly the people to people contact at the markets and the opportunity for tastings.  The Rocks Market, customers and fellow stallholders have become our weekend family over the past two decades and this we miss.

As we have not gone back to our beloved Rocks Markets, we have opted to open a shopfront in the Wollongong area.  We have a delightful shop at Shop 1, 58 Lakeside Drive, Kanahooka and are open 7 days a week for retail sales and customer sampling. Our hours are: 8.am to 4.30pm.
